The key itself does not stop working, but its eligibility for updates expires after 1 year. You can still use the key with older versions indefinitely.

TreeSize perpetual licenses include 12 months of free maintenance (updates and support). Once this expires, you can continue using your current version indefinitely, but you will need to renew your maintenance to install newer updates.
