Unlike the previous films, where the conflict arose from simple burglaries, Home Alone 3 centers on a high-tech theft. Four internationally wanted hitmen working for a North Korean terrorist organization have stolen a $10 million missile-cloaking computer chip. They hide the chip inside a remote-control car, which accidentally ends up in the hands of 8-year-old Alex Pruitt (played by Alex D. Linz) after a baggage mix-up at the airport.
