Printer shows “Service required” or “Parts inside printer at end of service life” — usually after many deep cleanings.
Because the XP 2100 has a very basic LCD screen (non-touch), the reset process requires a button sequence.
If your issue is not ink related—perhaps the menu is frozen, you forgot the WiFi password, or the printer is stuck in a foreign language—you need a factory hard reset.
In those cases, a new Epson XP 2200 or an EcoTank model (with zero cartridges and a replaceable maintenance box) is a better investment.
