The default CS 1.6 engine uses sv_airaccelerate (usually set to 10 or 100). Bad plugins simply max this out, allowing players to turn 90 degrees in mid-air without losing speed. This results in "air wiggling"—a janky, unrealistic snake movement.
Modern players expect feedback. A superior plugin displays your current speed (u/s), a hop counter, and a visual "sync percentage" showing how well you are strafing. This turns mindless hopping into a skill challenge.
By limiting speed, you prevent players from crashing the server or breaking hitbox registration.
