If you are still on X5 and considering an upgrade, here is the path:

Your Tool Plane is set to "Top" but your WCS is "Front." Fix: Open Planes → WCS → Check "Display WCS XYZ axes." Ensure the Gnomon (the colored axis arrow) points where your machine's zero is. Right-click the new plane → Set as WCS . mastercam x5
