Don't worry if you haven't upgraded to 4K yet. The standard Blu-ray is no slouch. The AVC encoded transfer is crisp, clean, and free of digital noise. Given that this is a CGI-heavy film, the 1080p disc handles the texture of Knuckles’ fur and the metallic sheen of Robotnik’s mustache-pod with excellent clarity. You’ll miss the extra color volume of HDR, but the standard Blu-ray is a rock-solid presentation.

After the events of the first film, Sonic is eager to prove he is a true hero.
